When it comes time to create a backyard that’s both beautiful and practical, you can’t do much better than sourcing materials from Mother Nature. When gravel is mentioned, most people think boring and unpleasant look, but there’s so much more to this varied and versatile material. Incorporating elements from the local landscape into a rock garden will lend authenticity and originality to your place. Low-maintenance and budget-friendly, with lots of colors and sizes to choose from. These are my favorite garden gravel ideas for you to help to integrate into your garden style.

CREATE A DECORATIVE PATHWAY

Many gardens need some kind of path to lead to different areas. A path made of beautiful stones or other material can create a nice character of the overall look or a gorgeous feature on its own. Create the stylish modern elegant look sidewalk paved with round stone, rock, or concrete slabs of various sizes. This particularly black stones garden path on white pebbles gives a neat border in a contrasting color, to keep the lines well-defined.

CREATE WALLS AND BOUNDARIES

Walls and boundaries are an excellent way to add interest to the garden by changing the levels, dividing the areas, and as a stylish backdrop to plants. This is my favorite gabion wall style which is really reflecting of stone and grave garden style. Shape your ideal outdoor area and create interesting garden features with gabion stone cages. Fill with the stone of your choice for stunning walling and sturdy boundaries.

SURROUND A WATER FEATURE

If you like the idea of scaling up your garden with water features which creates a lovely atmosphere, why not. Choosing the right style is important – water features can enhance the garden style and blend in with the surrounding scene, or become a focal point. The sound of streaming water or waterfalls makes your body relax, brings you peacefulness. However, the pond or still water is perfect for a quiet moment of calm reflection.

MIX IT UP FOR A CREATIVE LOOK

Fancy making a division statement with your garden. Try a range of different colors and sizes, shapes, and get creative with patterns and forms.

CREATE A ROCKERY

If you are being inspired by the beach therefore gravel is definitely one to add to your landscaping scheme. Why not transform an entire area of your garden into a rocky haven. Using contrasting sizes can give the effect of a natural beach, beginning with very fine gravel and working up to boulders.

CREATE A FIRE PIT AREA

This is an area where you gather the most with all your family and friends. Especially in summertime having a good barbecue or just simply enjoying the evening by watching flames playing around.
